Valentin Osipov

   Valentin Osipov, a musician-virtuoso, he has perfectly mastered how to play various and rather rare musical instruments like concertina and xylophone.
    His; concert program is tilled "The Evergreen Melodies" and is composed of pieces of popular classic, melodies of variety, cinema and musical comedy which he plays in his own arrangements. It must be said, too, that there are several pieces in his repertoire which are so difficult to perform that no one plays them now except him.
    His; technical skill and extensive range of the repertoire on concertina can be compared with mastery of such musicians – virtuoso playing rare instruments as William Sabatier – bandonion player or Lubomir Pleva – the mouth-organ (harp) player and some other musicians.
    Valentin; Osipov was born in the year 1930 in the family of circus artists in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). His artistic life lasts more then half a century. From the age of six he began to do his first steps on the stage, playing on some eccentric instruments, in due course he mastered such instruments like concertina, accordion and xylophone. After that V. Osipov graduated from the music college in Frunze and became a professional performer. Valentin Osipov performed as the soloist of many concert organizations in Moscow and Leningrad. He constantly leads a concert activity, takes part in the performances of different ensembles of Russia. Also he is a welcome guest abroad.
    Nowadays; Valentin Osipov is the most popular performer playing English concertina and xylophone. Since 1992 V. Osipov is in cultural cooperation with the Russian folk musical instruments ensemble "Skomorokhi", several times he was on tour with the folk group in Germany, France, Denmark, Finland and South Korea. Valentin Osipov is a prize-winner and laureate of several competitions and festivals. He is also a prize-winner of Superior Guild of International Competition "Acco-Holiday". Many times Valentin Osipov went on tour to different countries of Europe and Asia, and it was a success everywhere and his performance pleased the public very much.
